Ayampe is the ideal place to observe humpback whales (Novaeangliae Megaptera) making their annual migration from the cold waters of the Antarctica to the warm waters of the Machalilla National Park (Ayampe is located in the buffer zone of the Park).
Once the whales arrive at the Park, they will mate and wait until October when they have enough food reserves to initiate their journey back home.
Enjoy a horse ride along Ayampe’s beaches and take a look at Los Ahorcados Island and Ayampe River.

We invite you to admire the ruins of the ancient cultures of the area (Valdivia – Chorrera – Machalilla – Manteña) in a pleasant tour led by local guides from the community of Agua Blanca.
You can also soak in the natural hot sulfurous lake. Minimum of four people required.
Travel by sea to Isla de La Plata and see the whales on their annual migration (from June to August).

Learn to surf with our instructor. For only $20.00 you’ll have one hour of tuition plus an additional hour to keep practicing. For experts, we have surfboards available for hire from $12.00 to $18.00 per day.
